Layered Yogurt Parfait Recipe

Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for a layered yogurt parfait, perfect for a healthy breakfast, snack, or dessert during your camping trip!

Ingredients:

  • Yogurt:
    • 2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or flavored)
  • Fruits:
    • 1 cup fresh or frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or a mix)
    • 1 banana, sliced
    • 1/2 cup diced mango or pineapple (optional)
  • Granola:
    • 1 cup granola (store-bought or homemade)
  • Sweetener (optional):
    • Honey or maple syrup to taste
  • Toppings:
    • Nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
    • Seeds (chia seeds, flax seeds, or pumpkin seeds)
    • Shredded coconut
    • Dark chocolate chips or shavings

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Wash and slice the fruits as needed.
    • If using frozen berries, let them thaw slightly before using.
  2. Sweeten the Yogurt (Optional):
    • If you prefer a sweeter parfait, mix honey or maple syrup into the Greek yogurt to taste.
  3. Layer the Parfait:
    • First Layer: Start by spooning a layer of yogurt into the bottom of your glass or jar.
    • Second Layer: Add a layer of granola on top of the yogurt.
    • Third Layer: Add a layer of mixed fruits.
    • Repeat these layers until you reach the top of your container. Aim for at least two sets of layers for a visually appealing parfait.
  4. Top It Off:
    • Finish with a layer of yogurt on top.
    • Sprinkle additional granola, nuts, seeds, shredded coconut, and dark chocolate chips or shavings.
  5. Serve Immediately or Chill:
    • Serve the parfait immediately for a crunchy texture or refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the granola to soften slightly.
  6. Enjoy:
    • Grab a spoon and enjoy your delicious, healthy layered yogurt parfait!

Tips:

  • Customize: Feel free to mix and match fruits, yogurt flavors, and toppings to suit your taste.
  • Portion Control: Use smaller jars or glasses for individual servings, or larger ones if you’re serving as a main breakfast dish.
  • Make Ahead: Prepare the fruit and yogurt layers ahead of time, but add the granola and toppings just before serving to keep them crunchy.

This layered yogurt parfait is not only visually appealing but also packed with nutrients, making it a perfect choice for a wholesome treat while camping at Madison Campground!
