Maple Pecan Tart with Cinnamon Whipped Cream

A Maple Pecan Tart with Cinnamon Whipped Cream is a decadent and delightful dessert that’s perfect for fall or any special occasion. Here’s a recipe you can try:

Maple Pecan Tart

Ingredients:

  • For the Crust:
    • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1-2 tablespoons ice water
  • For the Filling:
    • 1 cup pure maple syrup
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2 cups pecan halves

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:
    • In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter pieces and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Add the egg yolk and pulse until the dough starts to come together. If needed, add ice water a tablespoon at a time until the dough forms a ball.
    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, shape it into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Pre-bake the Crust:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
    • Line the crust with parchment paper and fill it with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the weights and parchment paper. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until lightly golden. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Make the Filling:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
    • Stir in the pecan halves, ensuring they are evenly coated with the mixture.
  4. Assemble and Bake:
    • Pour the filling into the pre-baked tart crust, spreading the pecans evenly.
    • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, cover the edges with foil.
    • Remove from the oven and let the tart cool completely before serving.

Cinnamon Whipped Cream

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Make the Whipped Cream:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cold heavy cream, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
    • Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip, or it will turn into butter.
  2. Serve:
    • Slice the cooled maple pecan tart and serve with a generous dollop of cinnamon whipped cream on top.

Tips:

  • You can garnish the tart with additional pecans or a drizzle of maple syrup for extra flavor and presentation.
  • The tart can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Just be sure to bring it to room temperature before serving.

This Maple Pecan Tart with Cinnamon Whipped Cream is rich, flavorful, and perfect for any dessert while camping at Madison Campground!
