Ingredients:

  • Ripe bananas (1 per person)
  • Butter or cooking oil
  • Cinnamon sugar mixture (you can mix cinnamon powder with sugar to taste)
  • Optional campfire toppings: chocolate chips, marshmallows, chopped nuts, whipped cream, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Campfire:
    1. If you’re using a traditional campfire, make sure it’s burning down to hot coals. If you’re using a grill or stove, preheat it to medium heat.
  2. Prepare Bananas:
    1. Peel the bananas and slice them lengthwise, cutting through the peel so you can open them up but leaving the bottom peel intact to hold the banana together.
  3. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:
    1. Roll the banana halves in the cinnamon sugar mixture until they’re well coated.
  4. Cooking:
    1. Heat some butter or cooking oil in a skillet or on a grill.
    2. Place the cinnamon sugar-coated banana halves on the skillet or grill, cut side down.
  5. Fry:
    1. Fry the bananas for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and caramelized.

    1. Once the bananas are cooked to your liking, remove them from the heat.
